Alejandro Ibarra

Alejandro Ibarra is a Fellow Associate at the Competition Law Center of George Washington University, directed by William E. Kovacic, and a partner at Ibarra Rimon in Bogotá, Colombia. He has also served in the Colombian Government as a counselor to the Deputy Superintendent of Energy and Gas at the Superintendency of Public Utilities. Alejandro’s practice has focused primarily on antitrust and unfair competition litigation, merger fillings, consumer protection, and international trade. Among other things, he has advised and represented the interests of Colombian and foreign companies in investigations carried out by the Colombian Competition Authority and the Andean Community. Alejandro is a Science Juris Doctor (SJD) candidate at George Washinton University, holds a Law degree and a post-graduate degree in Competition Law and Free Trade from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Intentional and Comparative Law from George Washington University.
