Alexander Elbittar is Senior Fellow at the GW Competition & Innovation Lab of The George Washington University.
He is also Professor of Economics at the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE) in Mexico City. His research has focused on Economic Competition, Industrial Organization, Auctions, Theory of Individual Decision and Experimental and Behavioral Economics. He has published his work in several peer-reviewed academic journals. He is the current Director of the Program on Regulation and Competition (PIRCE) and General Coordinator of the Diplomas in Regulation and Competition, both at CIDE.
He has collaborated with the Mexican Competition Agency (COFECE), the Mexican Energy Regulator (CRE), the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement, the Federal Institute of Telecommunications, the Ministry of Economy, the Center for Public Finance Studies of the Chamber of Deputies, the National Laboratory of Public Policies, the Federal Judicial Council and the Specialized Courts in Economic Regulation and Competition, for which he was appointed as Expert in Economics before the Bodies of the Judicial Power of the Federation of Mexico. He is currently a member of the Mexico’s Antitrust Agency (COFECE) advisory group on digital economy and member of the National System of Researchers Level II of CONACYT.
