Carolina Agurto Salazar
Ms. Agurto has more than 16 years of experience in public policy and administration in Peru, Mexico, and the United States. In 2016, she joined C230 Consulting Group, where she is a Partner and acts as the General Director of its think-and-do tank organization (Fundación IDEA). Previously, Carolina has collaborated with USAID, the U.S. Department of State, the World Bank, the IDB, the OECD, the OAS, and the UN on projects related to economic and social development, innovation, competition, intellectual property (IP), Rule of Law, governance, regulatory policy, and anti-corruption. Also, she is affiliated with the Mexico Institute (Woodrow Wilson Center) to monitor the compliance of the USMCA and participated in the trade negotiations of the CTPP and the Pacific Alliance (competition, TBT, regulatory coherence, IP, and SOEs chapters) representing Peru. Carolina holds a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, where she was a Fulbright scholar, a World Bank scholar, and a Dean's Fellow. In 2021, she was selected for the W50 Program at the London School of Economics for executive women in leadership positions. In 2015, she was a fellow of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University and of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago. Carolina earned her Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas.
