Dr Zeynep Ayata is Jean Monnet Chair and Associate Professor of European Union and Competition Law. She holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, an LLB from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and an LLM from College of Europe (Bruges) and a PhD in private law from the University of Ankara.
She worked as assistant professor at Koç University Law School. She has been a visiting scholar at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, at the British Institute of Comparative and International Law and a visiting researcher at the Cambridge University Centre for Law, Medicine and Life Sciences. She is the author of several book chapters, scholarly articles and she has also published a book on competition law, EU law and law and technology.
She has conducted a Jean Monnet Action on EU law and digitalization funded by the EU Commission and a research project on innovation policy and regulation funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey. She has also worked in three research projects on social enterprises funded by the British Council, the European Union and the World Bank. She is currently working as a researcher in the Jean Monnet Policy Debate Action ENDE. She is a board member of the Academic Society for Competition Law and a Value of Competition Ambassador.
