Augustine Peter

Augustine Peter is a former Member of the Competition Commission of India (CCI). He had also served as its Director General (DG). He belongs to the Indian Economics Service (IES) and served in major economic ministries of the Government of India during 1982 to 2014, including as Director (Multilateral Trade), Department of Commerce and DG in Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. He served in the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) IPO office in Paris during 1989-93, as representative of the erstwhile India Investment Centre. He specializes on trade, investment and competition law and has publications in reputed journals. Currently he practices law in the Supreme Court of India.
