Yasmin Carrim currently serves as an acting Judge of the Gauteng Division of the High Court.  She has previously served as a full-time member of the  Competition Tribunal of South Africa which adjudicates matters involving anti-competitive conduct and effects in the economy.  She has previously served as part-time member of the National Consumer Tribunal, as Group Executive of Regulatory Affairs at MTN SA, and as a councillor on the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa. An attorney by profession, Yasmin was a director at the law firm Cheadle Thompson and Haysom and a founding trustee of the Women’s Legal Centre. She also served as a researcher to Justice Catherine O’Regan at the Constitutional Court during its founding years. She produced the Handbook on Tribunal Case Law in celebration of 20 years of the Competition Tribunal’s jurisprudence. She has also co-edited a handbook on telecommunications regulation in South Africa.
